Chicago Bears Depth Chart: 5 players in danger of being cut

The one position the Bears did not place on the first unofficial depth chart? No surprise — it’s the kicker.

More than likely, this is because the two have been so close throughout camp. Both Elliott Fry and Eddy Pineiro have had very strong days.

Speaking of Family Fest this past Saturday, the kickers were on full display under the lights. Although the depth chart doesn’t speak on the kicker position yet, fans saw a clear-cut favorite that night.

Pineiro knocked through all 12 of his kicks, including a long of 60. Meanwhile, Fry went 7-for-9.

Coach Nagy had some high praise for Pineiro after the game, too, which made it seem like the former Florida product has a leg up on Fry — no pun intended.

I think I speak on behalf of Bears fans everywhere when I say this: It doesn’t matter what his name is, as long as the team figures out their surefire plan at kicker. Whether it’s Fry, Pineiro, or another veteran who gets cut later this month. Figure it out.
