Chicago Bears Depth Chart: 5 players in danger of being cut
By Ryan Heckman
As Chicago Bears training camp wears on, who could find themselves on the outside looking in at the 53-man roster? We analyze the first unofficial depth chart.
The wait is over. We finally have it — the first unofficial Chicago Bears depth chart of the 2019 season. As training camp continues on, fans have begun wondering just where their favorite camp standouts will find themselves on such a list. Although it will change before the season opener, there has to be some takeaways from the initial depth chart.
Most of the first depth chart is all what you would expect. There are no starters out of place. Every starter you would expect to see is there, except the kicker position — which I’ll get to soon.
Before we dive into a few players who could be in danger, I will say the position that stuck out to me the most is at running back. We all know rookie David Montgomery should and will be the primary back, but it is Tarik Cohen listed as a starter.
Behind Cohen, believe it or not, is Mike Davis — odd, right? Maybe it’s just Matt Nagy making the rookie earn it, without anything being handed to him. That’s more his style.
The position everyone wants to talk about lately is at wide receiver, where of course Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel are listed as the starters. Ryan Pace and Nagy could end up keeping a whopping seven wide receivers if they truly want to keep the most talented players, which would be out of the ordinary.
Alright, you can see the rest of the depth chart with the above link. But, now, let’s look at some players that could face the final cuts, based on this first depth chart released.
