Chicago Bears: Ranking the top 7 biggest NFC threats
By Usayd Koshul
3. Philadelphia Eagles, tier two
The team that knocked the Bears out of the playoffs last season lands at number three for a number of reasons. First, Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz has finally had a full offseason to recover from knee and back injuries that have bothered him the last two seasons.
While the Eagles lost Nick Foles in free agency this offseason, they got better on offense by adding Miles Sanders, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Jordan Howard. Then on defense in what is one of the better defensive lines in football, Philadelphia has Derek Barnett, Malik Jackson, Vinny Curry, and Fletcher Cox.
At this point, the Eagles are clearly the most talented team in their division which means that the NFC East is theirs to lose. The championship and playoff experience that Philadelphia has is what makes them a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
While most will look at Philadelphia’s 9-7 record from last season and say that this team is middle-of-the-pack, the Eagles have everything it takes to be a tough playoff opponent. Recall that some of the key players of this team were hurt and lost for the season last year. Had they been healthy, it’s likely that the Eagles win their division.
When the Bears and Eagles meet on November Third, it will be a potential playoff matchup and since both teams are projected to win their division, it could also be a matchup that decides playoff seeding.
