Offensive Skill Positions

Most of the offensive skill positions are going to be set from the get-go, but there are a couple of spots that will be interesting to watch. The quarterbacks and running backs seem like a foregone conclusion, and the top six wideouts are locks in my opinion. But, will they want to keep an additional receiver?

Quarterbacks: Mitchell Trubisky, Chase Daniel

Running Backs: David Montgomery, Tarik Cohen, Mike Davis, Kerrith Whyte

Wide Receivers: Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, Taylor Gabriel, Riley Ridley, Javon Wims, Cordarrelle Patterson

Tight Ends: Trey Burton, Adam Shaheen, Ben Braunecker, Dax Raymond, Bradley Sowell

The two names which stick out the most to me out of this entire group are Sowell and the last wide receiver out, Marvin Hall.

Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace acknowledged the fact that they would keep additional players at certain positions if they felt they were the most talented. Keeping five tight ends seems a bit much, but Sowell’s experience playing offensive line (multiple positions) gives him a huge advantage.

The wildcard in this group is Raymond. He’s far too talented to see the Bears let go of him. Nagy likes his weapons on offense, which is why he’ll stick around. At the same time, it’ll hurt to let go of the speedy Hall. But, the tight end group is going to be an important and diverse one for these Bears.
