Chicago Blackhawks: The big four forwards in 2019-20
Alex DeBrincat has a lot to do with the success of Dylan Strome’s Chicago arrival. They were linemates in junior when they played for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. They had a guy named Connor McDavid on their line too, who turned out to be pretty good. If only the Blackhawks could get that guy back on a line with Strome and DeBrincat they’d really be in business.

DeBrincat has played in all 82 games in each of his first two seasons in the NHL. He had a great rookie year when he had 28 goals and 24 assists for 52 points. That is a solid rookie year, especially being two goals away from the 30 goal plateau in his rookie year. He would go on to reach the 30 goal plateau last year but he actually beat it by 11 when he scored 41 goals in what would be considered his breakout year. Add 35 assists for 76 points and he has emerged as one of the best players on this team.
He can provide the secondary scoring that would be great primary scoring on most other teams. The second line should be very good once again, and Alex DeBrincat will be right in the middle of it. Think about what Patrick Sharp used to bring to this team and how great it would be if DeBrincat could bring more of it consistently.
The sky is the limit for DeBrincat as far as goal scoring is concerned, and if he and Strome can continue to make plays together they will be set next year.
