Chicago Bears: 5 biggest questions heading into training camp
By Ryan Heckman
The 2019 Chicago Bears are ready to turn heads. But first, questions will be answered during training camp and preseason.
The quarterbacks and rookies have officially reported to Chicago Bears training camp. It’s that time again in Bourbonnais as fans from not only across the state, but the country, flock to Olivet Nazarene University to watch their beloved Bears go to work.
This time last year, we were all curious as to how quickly the team would be able to put it all together. General manager Ryan Pace, accompanied by first-year head coach Matt Nagy, had gone out and executed their plan to perfection. A strong draft class to pair with one of the best free agency crops the team has pulled togetherness in quite some time — these Bears were ready to take a step forward.
Not only did they take a step forward, but the time in camp helped the team mesh more than we ever could have anticipated in just one season. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was able to learn and operate a complex offense which featured tons of new faces.
Now, as they come off an NFC North title and an impressive 12-4 campaign, Chicago looks to take this thing even further.
This offseason was a little quieter than last, but the Bears still winter camp with several new faces. The secondary lost both Adrian Amos and Bryce Callahan, who were replaced by Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Buster Skrine, respectively.
Chicago also saw a major change in the back field as they traded away Jordan Howard and brought in veteran Mike Davis alongside rookie David Montgomery.
We all have our own questions about this roster as training camp kicks off. But, some questions loom larger than others. The following are my top five questions for the Bears at the start of camp.
