Mike Minor

Starting Pitcher

Texas Rangers

ERA: 2.73

WHIP: 1.16

IP: 122.0

K: 121

BB: 44

Once again, it seems unlikely that the Cubs make a move for another starting pitcher with the way Darvish has started to look lately. However, as I have said before, I wouldn’t be surprised by anything the front office does at the deadline.

Trading for an All Star starting pitcher? That might sound crazy. But, Mike Minor very well could be moved prior to the trade deadline.

At one point, Minor was a guy who could barely stay healthy. He missed all of 2015 and 2016 due to labrum and rotator cuff injuries which required surgery. Since then, though, he has managed to stay healthy and continues to rise and is currently boasting one of the best ERAs of his professional career.

As the deadline on July 31 nears closer, you will continue to see Minor’s name circling within rumors. The Cubs might be a long shot, but you never know.
