Training camp is about to start for the Chicago Bears and there are reasons to be excited.

We’re still in the midst of enjoying the summer weather, but training camp is just around the corner for the Chicago Bears. The Bears are scheduled to report to the campus of Olivet Nazarene in Bourbonnais in less than a week on Thursday, July 25.

If fans are champing at the bit to get back to football, you can only imagine how eager the team is to get back to camp for the unofficial start of the 2019 season. And with all of the naysayers and doubters coming out of the woodwork, they have some extra motivation this season.

Pretty soon, all the predictions, prognostications and talk will stop and the players will step between the lines and settle all of the offseason questions. For the Bears, those include whether the defense will regress, will the offense progress, and who will suit up at the kicker position.

However, if you’re a fan, there is so much more to sink your teeth into this year at training camp. For starters, the atmosphere should be electric. This team has certainly developed a personality over its first year with Matt Nagy, so it will be fun to see more of that this year. And fans should enjoy it while they can. Not all teams have open training camps, and with the team tightening the rules around picture and video taking, who knows whether the open practices will continue.

Regardless, there are a few other reasons to be excited about training camp this year, and we explore some of them below.
