With Chicago Bears training camp just days away, we’ll preview the wide receiver position and what to expect as the Bears report to Bourbonnais.

As the Chicago Bears head to Bourbonnais, wide receiver is perhaps the strongest position group on offense. The Bears feature good players like Allen Robinson, Anthony Miller, and Taylor Gabriel. While there were flashes of the wide receiver position being strong in 2018, this is a group that will definitely aim to be better in 2019.

Despite wide receiver not being a big need, the Bears front office still opted to add more talent to the wide receiver position, bringing in players like Riley Ridley, Marvin Hall, and Emanuel Hall. In other words, General Manager Ryan Pace is doing everything possible to continue adding playmakers for Mitchell Trubisky

In 2018, the Bears had six wide receivers on the roster:

Of the six names listed above, Robinson, Miller, Gabriel, and Bellamy regularly saw the field during the regular season. However, Wims and White were inactive for most of the season, only suiting up in event of injury.

However, this year, the Bears are set to carry 12 wide receivers into training camp. There are four names in the Bears wide receivers room that are locks to make the roster, however, beyond that, there will be eight players competing for the final two roster spots.

What makes the two final spots in the Bears wide receiver position so interesting is the fact that there has been a significant amount of turnover this year in the Bears wide receiver room. Each of the players that were brought in this offseason brings something unique to the Bears offense which will help take the offense to another level.

As the Bears get set to begin training camp, which players are locks to make the 53-man roster at the wide receiver position? Additionally, what are some names to watch out for that are on the roster bubble? What are some of the hidden gems to keep an eye on? We’ll examine those as we get our wide receivers preview underway.
