The talk never ends, as another recent report has the Chicago Bulls potentially moving on from veteran Kris Dunn.

The offseason has provided us Chicago Bulls fans with a bit of excitement — and by “a bit,” I do mean exactly that.

While the rest of the NBA has been busy shifting its entire landscape, the Bulls naturally (and sadly) avoided any big name superstars in free agency this year. Obviously, they would want to have landed a star, but that situation isn’t in the cards for the Bulls just yet.

Chicago did go out and sign one of the best-known teammates in all of basketball by inking forward Thaddeus Young. Not only that, but they brought in former Washington Wizards guard Tomas Satoransky via trade and signed big man Luke Kornet, formerly of the New York Knicks.

One of the biggest topics over the last couple of months, though, has been that of a potential Kris Dunn trade. Fans have likely wanted this to happen for a while now, but the truth of it is, his trade market is next to nothing.

K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune recently stated that the Bulls have publicly acknowledged they are completely open to a trade involving Dunn. It seems too obvious, but the fact that it is out in the open for real now is something worth noting.

A Dunn trade has to happen, right? It seems imminent at this stage. Via Chicago radio station 670 The Score earlier in July, Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times said that Dunn and his agent are “checked out.”

If that doesn’t speak volumes about the situation, I don’t know what will. Let’s dive in a little deeper into this situation, why a trade makes sense and what exactly the Bulls could do with him.
