Chicago Bears Training Camp Preview: Quarterbacks

1. Mitchell Trubisky’s Development
The face of the Chicago Bears franchise is heading for a make-or-break season as he enters his third year as a pro. All throughout OTA’s and minicamp, Trubisky has taken his game to another level. This is what makes his development one of the main things to watch in Bourbonnais.
Although Trubisky has taken his game to another level this offseason, he needs to be consistent when running the offense. This time last year, it was all about getting comfortable within Matt Nagy’s offense. However, now, it’s all about executing and being flawless with pads on.
The reality is that after the monster season that Patrick Mahomes had last year, the standard for Trubisky as an individual player is even higher than it originally was. Now does this mean that Trubisky needs to throw for 50 touchdowns and win NFL MVP? No. Trubisky just needs to be consistent to the point where he’s the reason the Bears are winning games.
It’s clear that no matter what anybody on the outside thinks, the Bears believe that Trubisky is their guy. Additionally, if he’s really at where the franchise claims to be in terms of his development then it’s fair to expect him to finally be a true franchise quarterback.
