4. Conclusion

A year ago, running back was a strength for the Bears as it was the most proven positional group on the Bears offense. However, now it is arguably the one with some questions that will be answered as the season goes on. The reality is that the Bears will have some tough decisions to make regarding who to keep and who to cut.

There are multiple questions that need to be asked when the front office and coaching staff evaluates the running backs. What is the offensive staff looking for? Besides the primary starters, what does the team want to see out of the guys like Nall and Whyte?

There are a few things that we likely know about the Bears as they evaluate each running back on the roster. First, the team will emphasize scheme fit. They’ve found the players that fit this scheme perfectly. And second, the Bears will look to bring speed to an offense that likely will end up taking a major leap forward in 2019. Third, the Bears will look to balance things out by ensuring they have guys who can run between the tackles, catch the football, and also bring speed to the table.
