Kickers

As of right now, the Bears have two kickers on the roster after having several more earlier in the offseason. Matt Nagy chose to let go of Chris Blewitt, leaving just Eddy Pineiro and Elliott Fry for training camp.

They could obviously bring in another kicker either right before training camp or during those practices. Actually, I wouldn’t be shocked if they did so. There have been rumblings that Chris Boswell and Mason Crosby could wind up being surprise cuts, but they’re nothing more than rumors at this point.

This team’s biggest, most glaring weakness is and always will be at the kicker position — until it’s solidified. And, I mean really solidified.

Ever since the playoff exit off the leg of Cody Parkey‘s miss, the Bears have put almost too much focus on the kicking competition. Some might even say Nagy has been overthinking the entire process with his quirky practice shenanigans.

Sure, all eyes will be on the big names during camp. Fans will be watching Mitchell Trubisky and Khalil Mack more than any other players on the roster. But, make no mistake about it: The kickers are not far behind.
