One of the biggest stories in the NBA lately is where Russell Westbrook will end up. Should the Chicago Bulls pursue a trade for him?

The Chicago Bulls have their issues. Heck, every team has their issues. But, if you’re a Bulls fan, you have to be glad their problems aren’t as enormous as that of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s.

At one point, Oklahoma City looked like a Western Conference contender. Russell Westbrook and Paul George were both having MVP-caliber seasons while playing for the same team. Some nights were incredible to watch. There were times you could look at that team and think, “These guys could win a championship if they played like this every night.”

But, the marriage wasn’t perfect in the end. The Thunder are fresh off of completing a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers, sending George out West to pair up with another star in Kawhi Leonard.

Once more, Westbrook is left alone wondering what his future holds. Moreover, he isn’t simply wondering. There have been talks.

In a matter of days, Oklahoma City could end up going into full-on rebuild mode. If I’m a Thunder fan, I’m not feeling so good right about now. The franchise could have a totally different outlook very soon.

On the other hand, the Bulls’ trajectory seems to be pointing up. After a successful NBA Draft, they added a couple of key veterans and filled out the roster in an efficient manner via free agency.

But, with the news of Westbrook potentially on the move, what if they decided to go all-in on a trade with Oklahoma City?

Would they actually do it? Would it work? Would Westbrook make the Bulls an instant contender?

Whoa, there. Let’s slow down. Why would they make this move in the first place? An argument could be made either way, which is why I decided to break it down a little more.

In a back-and-forth manner, allow me to do a deeper dive on why (and why not) the Bulls should (or should not) pursue a trade for Westbrook.
