Chicago Bulls: Potential lineups thanks to free agency
By Ryan Heckman
The Starting 5
This will be all the talk as we get through NBA Summer League and into the remainder of the offseason, on into training camp. We know who is going to start at positions two through five (at least we think so). The only potential question mark, outside of the most controversial position, is whether the Bulls would attempt to start Young — and I doubt it.
This is the way I see the 2019-2020 starting lineup shaking out for the Bulls:
PG: Satoransky
SG: LaVine
SF: Porter
PF: Markkanen
C: Carter
The key topic here will be the starting point guard. Didn’t the Bulls just draft White to be the point guard of the future? Yes, of course they did. However, Satoransky has a good chunk of starting experience and has proven he’s capable of running an offense.
White will get plenty of minutes, don’t you worry. But, Satoransky is the more capable starter for right now. As the regular season begins to unfold, maybe Boylen experiments with White in the starting five at some point. However, I don’t see that happening in his rookie year as long as Satoransky is on the team.
Now, how about when the Bulls have to close out final seconds of a quarter? Let’s keep it moving.
