Bringing in another versatile big man yet again proves desire to change

Not many people will know a lot about 7-foot-1 Luke Kornet, but this is another signing that speaks volumes about the direction of the team.

He isn’t going to blow you away in any aspect of his game, but the one thing he brings that a guy like Cristiano Felicio does not is his ability to knock down the long ball at an efficient clip (over 36 percent last year). He also shoots very well from the charity stripe (over 82 percent last season).

Signing Kornet proves that the team definitely knows they made a mistake in signing Felicio to a 4-year, $32 million contract once upon a time. If they can find a trade partner for Felicio (like Dunn), I would be willing to give the front office a lot of credit.

If you look at all of these moves over the course of this week, it is abundantly transparent that Gar Forman and John Paxson are truly attempting to change the roster in a way that fits today’s league and style of play.

I understand the notion that some fans think this organization is buried in mediocrity, and to a degree I would say the same thing. However, the Bulls are never going to be able to land a premier free agent until they can at least finish a season above .500 and show improvement. These signings should allow them to do just that.
