The sign-and-trade signaled a new direction

Monday morning when the Bulls dealt for Tomas Satoransky, I am sure there were several fans who didn’t know much about him. Quite honestly, the John Wall injury (as devastating as that was for the Wizards) helped this guy out in a big way.

More from Da Windy City

Satoransky was able to gain a ton of valuable starting experience at the point guard position, while Wall was unable to play. Yet again, he represents where the front office is taking this team — and for once, that isn’t all negative.

As big as he is at 6-foot-7, Satoransky is most comfortable playing point guard. But, he can also play both shooting guard and small forward. This gives Boylen a lot of room in terms of playing around with the rotation on a nightly basis. It also allows the Bulls to be prepared for any injuries to other guys.

If you noticed, Satoransky and rookie Coby White are both big point guards. The Bulls obviously like to have size at the position. If they can play up to par defensively, it certainly gives the team an edge on that end of the court.

Chicago has been busy making sure they are well-rounded at positions one through five, and although they haven’t added premier talent, that should come sooner rather than later once this team strings together a few more wins.
