Chicago Bulls: Every free agency move signals a big change

The Bulls’ first signing revealed its importance
At first glance, I was a bit worried that the Bulls overpaid for Thaddeus Young. Still, I am not thrilled about the money. But, because the Bulls won’t be able to spend that cash on anyone of All Star merit, I understand the overall reasoning for this move.
In Young, the Bulls landed someone who is incredible versatile — this is the big change in Chicago’s direction. The NBA is all about versatility now, and Young can play positions three through five if need be.
Young is actually a very, very consistent player on both ends of the floor. He’s always played his role at an efficient rate. He isn’t going to score 20 per night, but he’ll give you double digits. On top of that, he will give you a handful of rebounds and typically come up with a steal or two.
Most of all, Young is the prime example of someone who does their job and does it with 100 percent effort. On both ends of the floor, Young exhibits a high level of intelligence and work ethic. He’s a decent shooter from beyond the arc, possesses a mid-range jumper and can finish around the rim if need be.
Young is exactly the type of veteran you want in the locker room and on the court. The young players will learn a lot from his game and how he handles himself, but above all else, Young brings just what the organization is seeking — versatility.
