The Chicago White Sox are in a great spot with their prospect capital, and two of their best ones are headed to the Futures game.

It is that time of year again! The Futures Game is here and the Chicago White Sox are sending two of their top guys to the big game. They have had guys like Eloy Jimenez and Michael Kopech play in the big game and now it is time for some new guys to get in on the fun.

The White Sox announced on Friday that both Nick Madrigal and Luis Robert will participate in the 2019 Futures Game. The game used to be Team USA vs a Team World but after 20 years of that format they are switching to American League vs National League so both Madrigal and Robert will be part of the American League team. It is always fun when the White Sox are recognized anywhere and this is a time where they are being recognized.

The White Sox have had a very good farm system for years and they keep adding to it despite a lot of these guys graduating to the MLB level. Madrigal was the fourth overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft and Luis Robert was an international free agent signing. Both of these guys are highly touted and have been playing really well since their arrival in AA Birmingham.

Madrigal has a slash line of .272/.346/.377 in 49 games with AA Birmingham. He is a pure contact hitter and you can see that when you notice that he doesn’t have a AA home run yet. He won’t ever be relied on to hit home runs as long as he gets on base. Robert is a little bit more of a video game. He is truly a sensational hitter. In 48 games with AA Birmingham he has a slash line of .320/.365/.531. His power numbers are impressive as well with 7 home runs and 27 RBIs.
