Chicago Bulls Rumors: Free agent point guards on their radar

Malcolm Brogdon — Restricted
By now, you have probably heard or seen the name Malcolm Brogdon connected to the Bulls. There was that rumor that the Bulls could offer Brogdon a 4-year contract worth upwards of $80 million about a week ago, but in all honesty, does that really make sense at this point?
Chicago has their point guard of the future (hopefully) in White, so what sense would it make paying Brogdon that kind of salary? Due to the nature of how crazy this year’s free agency period is going to be, here’s the kicker:
If the Bulls were even thinking about going after Brogdon, they would have some stiff competition. Why use up nearly all of their $23 million in cap space to sign someone who literally makes zero sense for the franchise at this point?
Hopefully, these rumors and thoughts have died down a bit — especially following the draft last week. I don’t see any world where bringing in Brodgon is both realistic and/or sensible. Let the other point-guard-needy teams duke it out for the oft-injured point guard and move on with other options in mind.
