Derrick Rose — Unrestricted

This storyline has died down a little bit in recent months. It seemed like the return of Derrick Rose to Chicago could have some real legs to it a few months back, but that could also have been due to the release of the “Pooh” documentary as well. Rose’s story received a lot of hype from fans on social media, thus jumpstarting somewhat of a hype train to get him back to the Bulls this summer.

Last year proved Rose still had basketball left in him. Everyone knows what he meant to the city of Chicago prior to leaving the Bulls in the first place. He was the youngest MVP in league history. He took the Bulls to some serious battles in the playoffs. Rose meant everything to Chicago, and still means a lot to them.

When he scored his career-best 50 points in a Timberwolves uniform last year, you better believe every Bulls fan was cheering — no matter how much slander they gave him years ago. I, for one, couldn’t believe my eyes. Seeing Rose ascend like that, just for one night, was memorable.

While it’s not out of the question for Rose to return to Chicago, there hasn’t been much talk around that scenario as of late. Would I be opposed? Absolutely not. Get Rose back to the United Center on a team-friendly deal and I’m happy.
