The Chicago White Sox are coming off of an emotional two-game series with the Chicago Cubs, and now they will look to keep it going in Texas.

The Chicago White Sox are headed to Arlington to take on the Texas Rangers after an emotional series against the Chicago Cubs. The White Sox had a decent showing at Wrigley Field against a really good Cubs team. Now they will look to keep a good stretch going against the Rangers who are playing some really good baseball.

At 39-35 the Rangers sit one game out of the final wild-card position in the American League and at 35-37 the White Sox sit three games behind them and four out of that wild-card spot. The important thing isn’t looking at the standings right now for the Sox, it’s making sure that they recognize that they are headed to play a great team and they need to be ready.

The series begins on Friday when Reynaldo Lopez takes the ball for the White Sox against Rangers starter Ariel Jurado. On Saturday Odrisamer Despaigne is tentatively scheduled to start against Lance Lynn of the Rangers. On Sunday they will close the series with Ivan Nova on the bump and Adrian Sampson will oppose him. There are some intriguing matchups in here and without Giolito in this series, someone is going to need to step up.

This is going to be a warm weathered affair between the White Sox and Rangers who are both bubble teams halfway through June, which is longer than anyone would have expected back in March. Going from the Cubs to the Rangers continues a stretch against teams who will all be above .500 and compete for the playoffs until the very end. The good news is, the White Sox have not been intimidated by their opponent at any point in 2019 and nobody should expect that to start now.

Yoan Moncada came back to the starting lineup on Wednesday after sitting for most of the game on Tuesday against the Cubs and he was awesome in his return. He went 2-4 with an RBI in the game so he was clearly feeling more like himself. Moncada is pivotal to the White Sox winning game in the present and the future. Look for him to have a big series against the Rangers and they might need guys like Jose Abreu, Tim Anderson, and Eloy Jimenez to also have a good series if they are going to take this one from Texas.
