Trade rumors

On the trade front, there have been quite a few rumors, with most of them centering around the Bulls moving their No. 7 pick and point guard Kris Dunn.

Rumor #1

One such deal proposed by Bleacher Report would send Dunn and the No. 7 pick to the New Orleans Pelicans, in exchange for the No. 4 pick that the Bulls could use on a point guard, potentially Darius Garland.

Verdict: Rumor

This would be a home run for the Bulls. Sending Dunn (whom they have soured on) to the Pelicans who already have Jrue Holiday and Lonzo Ball incoming to move up three spots seems like a no-brainer. So much so that it’s hard to see the Pelicans pulling the trigger on this one. For those reasons, we say this one is nothing more than a rumor.

Rumor #2

The Bulls are allegedly open to trading everyone on their roster not named Lauri Markkanen or Wendell Carter Jr., according to a report from The Athletic’s Darnell Mayberry. According to Mayberry, an unidentified source who is familiar with the team’s plans state that the growing sense around the league is that the Bulls are open for business.

Next. Bulls don't even believe in their own rebuild. dark

Verdict: Reality

Mayberry is about as plugged in as you can get on the Bulls beat so if it’s coming from him, there more than likely is some truth to this. Besides, wouldn’t it be just like John Paxson and Gar Forman to ink Zach LaVine to a huge deal and trade for Otto Porter‘s huge contract only to bail on them a year later? As unbelievable as that idea is, it’s also totally believable under this regime.
