1. Acquire Blake Griffin from the Detroit Pistons

Despite the Bulls supposedly being willing to trade any player on the current roster not named Lauri Markkanen or Wendell Carter, if the Bulls have an offer that they cannot pass up, they should pull the trigger.

In this variation of a Markkanen trade, the Bulls send Lauri to Detroit along with the seventh-overall pick in next week’s draft in exchange for Blake Griffin.

While there have been no rumors of Griffin potentially being on the move, the Pistons could be due for a rebuild, and this deal would be the perfect one to initiate just that.

In Griffin, the Bulls would be getting a perennial top-20 player in the league. Griffin is a six-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA honoree.

Bulls don't even believe in their own rebuild. light. Related Story

Last season, Griffin averaged 24.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. In nine seasons, Griffin is averaging 22 points and nine rebounds per game.

Griffin is known as one of the most explosive players in the NBA, as well as one of the most marketable and recognizable players in the league. Acquiring Griffin would be a major boost on the court, but off the court, the Bulls would be getting an immediate franchise-changing person, someone that would be able to represent the Bulls as a superstar.

Griffin’s price tag would be hefty, as it would be tough to part with Markkanen, one of the biggest rising stars in the NBA, as well as the seventh-overall pick in the draft, but if the Bulls want to win, they’re going to need a bonafide superstar, and Griffin is just that.

This trade is very similar to the one that saw the Indiana Pacers deal Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for two young, budding players a couple of seasons ago. The deal was a major surprise, but it benefited both teams greatly, as this trade has the potential to do.
