10. Vancouver Canucks – Matthew Boldy, RW

Vancouver has Elias Pettersson and Bo Horvat as a really good 1-2 punch down the middle to build around and with a winger like Brock Boeser in the mix, that is a nice core of forwards to build around. Adding a winger like Matthew Boldy to come into the mix one day could be awesome for them one day. They are a team that could take the next step any year now and Boldy would just be joining a nice young core.

11. Philadelphia Flyers – Phillip Broberg, D

He might not be able to come into the league right away, but Phillip Broberg might end up being the second best defenseman in this draft. There might be guys selected below him that might be able to come into the NHL sooner. The Flyers have tons of young defenseman already at the NHL level that are looking to take the next step themselves, so Broberg would have lots of time to develop before joining the big club in Philadelphia.

12. Minnesota Wild – Victor Söderström, D

The Minnesota Wild are in a weird position. They aren’t bad, but they aren’t good either. They need help in addition to just hoping they can stay healthy and have all their best players play well. With guys like Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu, and Ryan Suter getting well into their 30s, they need to do something in the playoffs and fast. They might be forced to move one of their good defensemen to appease the cap so Victor Söderström would be an excellent selection for them. He doesn’t have the high-end skill that some other defensemen have but he would be much quicker to join the big club in the NHL than some other guys with higher ceilings.
