2019 NHL Mock Draft: Chicago Blackhawks pick begins the intrigue
4. Colorado Avalanche (via Ottawa Senators) – Alex Turcotte, C
The Colorado Avalanche feel like they are right there in terms of having a chance to win the Stanley Cup. They have superstars like Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, and Mikko Rantanen. Not too long ago though, they had 48 points in one of the worst seasons in NHL history. Soon after that, they traded their star center Matt Duchene to the Ottawa Senators who ended up falling off a cliff. They fell so hard that they gave the Avalanche the best odds to win the Draft Lottery, and it earned them the fourth overall pick.

Now, the Avalanche are in place to select a great player to add to their system. Alex Turcotte would be a perfect match for them. He is probably going to do at least one year at the University of Wisconsin, but there would come a time where he comes in and is a good second line center behind MacKinnon.
5. Los Angeles Kings – Dylan Cozens, C
This Dylan Cozens is good enough to go third overall, but it is very deep and very wide open. He would make a fantastic second line center one day behind Kings superstar center Anze Kopitar. The Los Angeles Kings are trying to quickly retool to help their core that has won two Stanley Cups. Dylan Cozens might be the quickest way to make sure they can have another run with Kopitar, Drew Doughty, and Jonathan Quick. He is a big, strong two-way center that would start as the number two guy but eventually could be a true number one.
