Chicago White Sox: 2019 All-Star Game voting update

The Chicago White Sox have a steady mix of guys who deserve to be in the summer classic, so let’s take a look at how they’re doing in the voting.

The Chicago White Sox have a few guys who are more than worthy of being American League All-Stars. There were some updates released on Monday on how they are doing in the voting. There are some guys who are near the top of the votes and that is a sight for sore eyes for White Sox fans in terms of potentially having more than one representative in the summer classic.

There are three guys that were announced to be in the top five at their positions. James McCann is the second most voted catcher, Jose Abreu is the third most voted first baseman, and Tim Anderson is the fourth most voted shortstop. These are updates per the Chicago White Sox Twitter account.

Obviously, guys like Yoan Moncada and Lucas Giolito have a real chance at getting the nod as well and how they do in the coming weeks could help determine that.

James McCann might be the most notable of all of these that are in the mix. Simply because it was completely unexpected that he would be this good. It would be awesome to see him end up on the team and represent the White Sox from behind the plate.

Jose Abreu being in the mix is completely expected. He has been one of the most consistent offensive first basemen in the American League for a long time now. He has also played most of his career on a subpar White Sox team, so it is awesome to still see him in the mix as the team gets deeper. it shows just how good of a hitter he is.

Tim Anderson might also fit under the “surprise” category if you look at it from a “before the season” point of view. We knew he might take a step forward but not sure we thought he would be this good. He is looking like a superstar shortstop and those of us who watch him every game know he should probably be the starting shortstop.

The message here is to keep voting! It would be awesome to have the White Sox well represented at the All-Star game! Vote Abreu, vote Yoan, vote Timmy, vote Gio, and vote James! They are all so deserving so it will be interesting to see who is in and who is out.
