Just one weekend later, the rival teams were back at with a three-game series in Chicago at Wrigley Field. This time, things went the home team’s way.

That’s two sweeps for the Cubs, and one for the Cardinals in the nine games they’ve played this year.
Weird, I know. But it worked out for the Cubs this time as they took all three games from the Cardinals this weekend. They limited the Cards to just one run in both Friday and Sunday’s games.
The pitching staff for the Cubs has had their ups and downs so far this season, but the rotation was spectacular this weekend. It’s a much-needed boost for a team that was struggling just one week ago.
After an abysmal stretch to start the season, it seems as if this team is hitting its stride. Kudos to the players for blocking out all the negativity early in the year. It seems to be paying off as the team’s bats are heating up.
