To be 100 percent honest with you, I was actually scared to death when the Minnesota Vikings signed Kirk Cousins last year. I’m not kidding. I was indeed worried that the Vikings were the divisional favorite.
Watching Cousins play with a constantly-depleted offensive line in Washington, not to mention his lack of a consistent run game, I was thoroughly impressed. Maybe it was that I watched him from a fantasy football perspective, or that I wasn’t a die-hard Redskins fan. But, I liked what I saw out of him there.
When he got to Minnesota, it all kind of fell apart. He could rack up the yardage, but folded under pressure (which he saw a lot of).
The contract was abysmal, of course, but on an annual average basis, it’s not the worst.
Cousins has yet to attempt the beer chug (and I’m quite certain he won’t), and he didn’t put a beard on display for us last year. Although, when grown in the past, it didn’t look half bad.
