The Chicago White Sox have lots of young stars on their team now, and one of them is finding success in different areas at home and on the road.

The Chicago White Sox got a Saturday afternoon win against the Kansas City Royals on the back of yet another outstanding start by Lucas Giolito. The run support in the game, however, came off the bat of left fielder Eloy Jimenez.

Jimenez hit his seventh home run of the season to put the Sox up 2-0. It was his seventh home run of the season, but remarkably all seven of them have been on the road. So what does that mean for his home crowd? Well, they simply haven’t seen an Eloy Jimenez home run in their ballpark yet. They will see plenty soon enough, but let us dive into why that may be.

The answer may be simple: it is a fluke. He claims he grips the bat tighter at home and that could be why he hasn’t done it yet. That very well could be and he just needs to loosen up, but some other statistics suggest that it might just be a fluke that he hasn’t put one out at home yet.

In 17 games at Guaranteed Rate Field, he has a .279 batting average and a .323 on-base percentage and 17 strikeouts. Then in 22 games on the road, he is only batting .193 with a .244 on-base percentage and 30 strikeouts. Those are not great numbers for some reason he has seven home runs and 13 RBIs. He might be looser on the road but some of his numbers are better at home if you ignore the lack of home runs.

The bottom line is that Jimenez is still very young and has a long way to go before he reaches his potential. You saw how long it took Yoan Moncada and Tim Anderson to get to where they are at and the patience is paying off big time as they might be poised to be all-stars now. Jimenez will hit lots of home runs both at home and on the road for the White Sox for a long time. Hopefully, he keeps on developing and helping the White Sox win baseball games.
