Chicago Bulls: Inexpensive free agents worth looking at
By Ryan Heckman
Guard/Forward Reggie Bullock — Unrestricted
The last guy whom could fit well with the Bulls, and is also going to cost quite a bit less than most, is Reggie Bullock. Most recently, Bullock spent time with the Los Angeles Clippers after being traded from the Detroit Pistons last year.
For most of his career, Bullock has been known as a decent role player who isn’t going to hurt you too badly, but won’t necessarily be the reason you win games. He does his job and does it well. He is primarily a “3-and-D” type of guy who has shot the three ball at a 39 percent clip over the course of his career.
Earlier in his pro career, he put up better defensive numbers. Over the past couple of seasons, his defensive rating has declined a bit, but I would assume a coach like Boylen would bring out the best in him once more. Boylen won’t settle for guys who don’t play defense, and Bullock has proven he can do so in the past.
Bullock’s best years were with the Pistons, where he actually started a good amount of games. Back in 2017-2018, he shot a career-high 44.5 percent from beyond the arc, while appearing in 62 games for the Pistons.
