Point Guard Isaiah Thomas — Unrestricted

I don’t necessarily know why, but part of me still believes in Isaiah Thomas. As a kid who worked his tail off for a spot as a pro and not only earned that, but became a rising star, Thomas kind of fell off over the last couple of seasons; mainly due to injury.

Last year with the Denver Nuggets, Thomas really focused on his body and tried to get back to full strength. He has gone on record saying he appreciates Denver for allowing him to take the time necessary to do that, and he’s ready to come back and be a force once more.

Could he do so with the Bulls? If Thomas came relatively cheap, I don’t see anything wrong with taking a shot on him. If he were to prove he is back to full health, Thomas could be a bolt of electricity off the bench. Heck, maybe he even proves he’s capable of starting again in the league.

Just two years ago, Thomas was coming off his biggest season yet with the Boston Celtics. He put up a whopping 28.9 points and 5.9 assists per game, earning an All Star bid while starting in all 76 games he played in. I have a soft spot for Thomas, especially after what happened with his sister passing, and would love to be able to root for him in black and red.
