Chicago Bulls: Free agent guards to back up Zach LaVine
By Ryan Heckman
Garrett Temple — Unrestricted
You may not know much about Garrett Temple, but he’s had a pro career for a decade now. The 33-year-old played his college ball at LSU and went undrafted back in 2009. He has played for a bunch of teams over the last 10 years, including playing overseas in Italy for a little while.
But, Temple has become a valuable player over the years. He has primarily been a backup for most of his career, but over the last four or five seasons, Temple has gained a good chunk of starting experience.
He won’t be the star of the show — which is a good reason why you may not know who he is — but Temple is a classic example of a “glue” guy.
He’s become a good three-point shooter and averages about three attempts per game over the course of the last four seasons, shooting anywhere from 34-to-39 percent from deep.
Temple would come relatively inexpensive for the Bulls, but has tremendous experience. As a decent shooter and tough defender, Temple could provide Chicago extensive minutes if need be. He may not be your first choice this summer, but don’t overlook the savvy veteran.
