The Chicago White Sox have shown that they have the potential to be a good baseball team over the weekend after earning another series win.

The Chicago White Sox won their series over the Cleveland Indians three games to one. It was a series against one of the two teams they are looking up to in the American League Central division going into it, and the 3-1 series win got them tied up with them for second place in the division. The White Sox are playing some really good baseball now and the right guys are the ones contributing.

After being swept by the Minnesota Twins two series prior to this one, it looked like it might be the time where the season goes off the rails. Then they proceded to sweep the Kansas City Royals and follow that up with a 3-1 series win against Cleveland. It has been a good homestand for the White Sox with a 6-1 record.

The most notable performance from the entire series was that of Lucas Giolito. He was the best pitcher in the series by far, and he has a real chance now to make the American League All-Star team. He led them to the series-clinching win on Sunday by pitching 7.1 innings giving up no runs, five hits and had nine strikeouts with no walks. It was a truly impressive outing by Giolito and he is officially on a roll.

The White Sox outscored Cleveland 20-10 in the series and they won their three games of the four in different ways. Guys like Tim Anderson and Yoan Moncada continued to be awesome along with the rest of the lineup.

They have a day off on Monday, but then it is off to our nation’s capital to play the Washington Nationals for two games. Reynaldo Lopez will face the team that traded him away with Stephen Strasburg in the Tuesday game. Dylan Covey will go against Anibal Sanchez on Wednesday. The Nationals are having a disappointing season, and at 26-33 they will be looking to be better because they are a team with a roster that you would think is better than that. The White Sox have a challenge ahead of them regardless of either team’s record.

It is nice to see this team winning baseball games, but they need to keep it up and not get ahead of themselves. We like to see the boys dancing in the dugout and having big-time fun. That will continue to happen as long as they keep winning.
