5. RB Tarik Cohen

In 2018, Tarik Cohen took a big step forward. He established why he could perhaps be considered as the most important player on the Bears offense that’s not a quarterback. What makes Cohen such an important player is the versatility and speed that he brings to the offense. Cohen can not only be a factor in the running game, but he can also line up in the slot or catch passes out of the backfield. It’s no secret that he’s become a favorite of Head Coach Matt Nagy’s.

With NFL offenses featuring more speed, Cohen is a dangerous threat to score every time he touches the ball. A former fourth-round pick, Cohen has certainly exceeded expectations and proved that for the next decade, he’ll be one of Mitchell Trubisky’s best weapons.

Cohen’s contract will be interesting to estimate. NFL teams are not willing to commit big money to running backs simply because the life span of running backs isn’t very long. At most, many last until the age of 30 before teams decide to move on. While there are exceptions, the Bears should look to give Cohen a deal which keeps him in Chicago until at least 2024.

Cohen is one player the Bears will make sure that they retain. The coaching staff understands the importance of having a versatile running back like Cohen on the roster. Cohen will look to get paid, but the two sides could view his worth differently which means that there could be a chance that both sides are apart on a deal.
