Trade no. 2: Deal with Los Angeles Lakers

It is well-known that the Bulls have to address the point guard position. Whether or not they do it with their no. 7 overall pick remains to be seen. As previously state, Chicago could be in line to snag the Tar Heels’ White with their current spot. Or, if they choose to look elsewhere, they could deal the pick for a veteran like Lonzo Ball.

The Bulls have long had rumored interest in Ball, dating all the way back to January when teams were heating up in their pre-trade deadline discussions. The Bulls nearly pulled off a deal for Ball, but it never came to fruition.

In this deal, the Bulls would be giving up a hefty price in the no. 7 overall selection. But, as many have noted, that pick isn’t a sure thing. In fact, outside of Zion Williamson and Ja Morant (throw in R.J. Barrett if you would like), there aren’t many prospects whom present a “franchise-altering” type of tag.

We have talked extensively here about Ball coming to Chicago, and our opinions are split. I’m in favor of a deal like this, simply because I’m a fan of what Ball brings to the table. He’s exactly the type of point guard the Bulls need at this stage. He’s not a scorer, but he’s a bigger, defensive-minded point guard who thinks with a pass-first mentality.
