Extending Jim Boylen was a big mistake

I know, I know. The Chicago Bulls just extended Jim Boylen through the 2019-2020 season. However, if you follow social media, this was an awful move in regards to maintaining the trust of the fans. I am not sure a single fan was happy with this move and the only way to correct it is to let Boylen go.

Firing Boylen is not going to be enough though. The Bulls front office needs to hire the right coach. They need to bring in someone who fans actually want. They missed with Fred Hoiberg. Not to mention, the fans hated seeing Tom Thibodeau go too. This means three coaching mistakes for John Paxson and Gar Forman now. Who do they bring in next though?

Jerry Stackhouse would be a great option, but convincing him to turn down his new Vanderbilt head coaching job is not likely. This is unfortunate as Stackhouse was proving his worth in the G league and should have easily been hired as an NBA head coach.

This leaves me with the next best choice, Jarron Collins. Collins recently interviewed for the Memphis Grizzlies head coaching gig, but I would much rather see him in Chicago. Collins has been the assistant head coach to Steve Kerr in Golden State. He has the resume and would be the hire that turns this team around. Not to mention, most fans should get behind a hire like this one.
