Guard J.J. Redick — Unrestricted

Call this one the longest of long shots. I’m only highlighting J.J. Redick because of the fact that he’s actually a free agent. Not to mention, I like Redick as a player and person. Over his NBA career, Redick has become a more well-rounded player overall, but has never lost who he truly is — an elite shooter.

Coming out of Duke, not many thought Redick would maintain his superstardom he possessed in college, and they were right. He hasn’t been a star in the NBA, but he’s relaxed into the fact that he’s a crucial piece to any team’s chances at winning basketball games.

The three-point shooting is attractive, sure, but I would love having Redick in Chicago due to how he’d help develop the younger guys. He has been around a few different locker rooms and played for several coaches. Redick has seen what works and what doesn’t, both from a player’s and coach’s standpoint.

Redick is coming off a career season in terms of points per game, which saw him average over 18 per night. He is a career 41-percent shooter from beyond the arc. That’s over 4,100 career attempts, for those counting at home.

It isn’t likely the Bulls would be able to shell out the money Redick would demand, but it’s worth looking at him in any event.
