Chicago Bulls: Potential free agent adds from Boston Celtics
By Ryan Heckman
Forward/Center Daniel Theis — Restricted
At 27 years old, Daniel Theis has only been in the NBA for two seasons now. He spent all of his career prior to that playing in Germany. After being undrafted back in 2013, Theis tore up the German league.

After going undrafted and before signing with the Celtics, Theis was a four-time German All-Star and a three-time champion — in four seasons overseas. The Celtics signed him back in 2017, and now they have the rights to retain him.
Theis is a long shot for the Bulls, simply because I see the Celtics hanging onto him. The only way he leaves Boston is if another team overpays — don’t hold your breath, but, that wouldn’t surprise me coming from Chicago.
Over the last two seasons, Theis has provided depth to the Celtics in the front court, playing about 14 minutes per game. He’s an above-average shooter (54 percent last year) and has the ability to knock down the outside shot (38 percent last year).
If the price was right, the Bulls could grab depth up front in a guy who is still proving he belongs in the NBA.
