Mike McCarthy – Ex-HC, Packers (Petyr Baelish)

Another character who was part of the small council is Petyr Baelish. Petyr Baelish is also known as “littlefinger” because of his small size and also because House Baelish has a hold over the smallest of the five areas located within the Fingers region.

Baelish was fostered during his childhood by the Tully family in Riverrun. This is where he met and fell in love (more like obsessed) with Catelyn Tully. Catelyn never felt the same way though and later marries Eddard Stark. Baelish is known for owning many brothels throughout Westeros and proves he is savvy financially. He is eventually named “Master of Coin” within King Robert Baratheon’s small council.

Mike McCarthy comes to mind when I think of Petyr Baelish. This one does not match from a physical standpoint obviously as McCarthy is anything but little. However, McCarthy is someone who has a reputation of being a great football mind. This is similar to how Baelish has a great business and financial mind.

Baelish is also cunning and sneaky, something you can equate to McCarthy’s ability to consistently lead his team into the playoffs with his playcalling. Unfortunately for both McCarthy and Baelish, they eventually outsmart themselves and their egos get the best of them.
