Akiem Hicks – DE, Bears (Tormund Giantsbane)

Game of Thrones is full of big, strong characters. Tormund Giantsbane is no different. Tormund is a wildling who lives north of the Wall. He is a leader of a large group of wildlings that joined forces with Mance Rayder, the King-Beyond-the-Wall.

He is a violent and skilled fighter and proves it throughout many battles. He takes on the brothers of the Night’s Watch until both sides have a common enemy against the White Walkers and Night King. He eventually gains respect for Jon Snow and the two enemies become brothers in arms for the survival of the undead.

Akiem Hicks was drafted in 2012 by the New Orleans Saints. He was shipped off to the Patriots in a trade in 2015. Then he signed with the Chicago Bears in 2016. Tormund followed a similar path. He was a wildling and then joined with Mance Rayder. Then he joined up with Jon Snow. Also like Tormund, Hicks is a dominant force while on the field.

If you know what Tormund looks like, Hicks fits the bill there too. Both sport impressive beards and are massive in size. Hicks stands 6’5″ and 330lbs. Tormund has the last name Giantsbane for a reason, he is clearly “giant”. Plus, Tormund cracks some pretty good jokes in the show, while Hicks has many funny moments in interviews and on social media.
