Danielle Hunter – DE, Vikings (Ser Gregor Clegane)

Ser Gregor Clegane is the head of House Clegane and an appointed knight by Rhaegar Targaryen. Clegane is freakishly big, freakishly strong and yet still quick for his size. He is nicknamed “the Mountain” because of his massive size.

Although a knight, Clegane is not an honorable person. Rumors exist involving the horrible acts that Ser Gregor has done. Acts that include women and even children. He is a very violent man who has little to no control of his anger. His affiliation with the Lannisters has allowed his bad actions to be covered up, and he has yet to pay for any of his crimes.

At first, I wanted to use Khalil Mack as Gregor’s player comparison, but although strong and a dominant force on the field, he lacks the size needed to match up here. Danielle Hunter, however, makes perfect sense. Hunter is 6’5″ and 252lbs. Like Mack, Hunter is a dominant force on the football field. He overpowers his opposition and wreaks havoc against quarterbacks.

The fact that Hunter is on the Vikings is even more fitting. When I think of the type of men that resemble Ser Gregor’s physique, I instantly think descendants of Vikings. This comparison could not be any more spot on. Or can it?

2018 was Hunter’s best season thus far, which should make NFC North opponents very scared. He finished with 14.5 sacks and 51 solo tackles. As a Bears fan, I like to think Khalil Mack is the most feared player in the league, but Hunter could easily stake that claim. A claim that Ser Gregor easily has among those in Westeros.
