Point Guard Coby White, North Carolina

The more I have thought about it over the past couple of days, the more I truly believe it will be Coby White at no. 7 overall. The Bulls desperately need a point guard, and White is the third-best option at the position in this year’s draft.

White played on a stellar North Carolina team in 2018, and over the course of his freshman year it became clear that the group would go as far as White took them. In his only season with the Tar Heels, White put up an average of 16.1 points, 4.1 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.

There is a lot to like about White. First off, he’s a decent three-point shooter. Last year, he shot over 35 percent from beyond the arc.

Second, he is an aggressive player. White is quick and can get to the bucket in a hurry. But, his quickness also allows for his signature step-back jumper. He works defenders into circles at times with how fast he moves with the ball.

White is also a bigger point guard, listed at 6-foot-5 (without the hair, of course). To be as fast as he is, but also possess the size he does, is a strong characteristic.

The Bulls have to address the point guard position this offseason. It’s their biggest weakness in the starting five. Bringing in White would solidify the spot and make for entertaining basketball, at the very least.
