Chicago Bears: Why Trubisky is set to breakout in 2019

4. Trubisky’s own experience
Coming out of North Carolina, one of the major red flags with Trubisky was that he was raw and didn’t have enough experience. Essentially, most viewed this to be a major reason as to why he wasn’t going to be a successful NFL quarterback.
However, through two seasons, Trubisky has proven that no matter what situation he’s placed in, he has the ability to maneuver through it. In other words, Trubisky is battle-tested.
Unlike players such as Patrick Mahomes and DeShaun Watson who walked into situations where there were already playmakers like Travis Kelce and DeAndre Hopkins, Trubisky rarely had any offensive help his first season.
Essentially, Trubisky knows what it’s like to be battle-tested in the NFL. In 2018, when the Bears hosted the Rams on Sunday Night Football, Trubisky tossed three interceptions. After the game, Trubisky stated that he needed to play better. Over the next three weeks, Trubisky would toss three touchdowns, zero interceptions, and have a quarterback rating of 109.7.
It’s clear that Trubisky’s own experiences will help him in his quest to be the Bears franchise quarterback. From the work that he needed to do at UNC to become the starter to the way that he’s become a better player and leader for the Bears, Trubisky has some special qualities which not many NFL quarterbacks can say that they have.
