Chicago Bulls Mock Draft: Post 2019 NBA Lottery Edition
Round One, Pick Seven
With the seventh pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select Coby White.
White, a point guard out of the University of North Carolina, was one of the biggest risers amongst prospects in the draft this year. White entered the season as a fringe-five star recruit but left Chapel Hill with UNC’s single-season freshman scoring record, two wins over Duke, a top seed in the NCAA Tournament, and a trip to the Sweet Sixteen.

To say White is qualified is an understatement. That’s going purely off of accolades.
White becomes even more desirable of a pick once you take a look at the numbers.
In his only season at UNC, White averaged 16.1 points per game, 3.5 rebounds per game, and 4.1 assists per game. White shot 43% from the field, making huge shots in high-leverage situations all season for the Tar Heels.
White is widely-renown as the top pull-up shooter in the draft as well as the fastest player amongst his peers. White’s blazing speed in fast-break scenarios is a money combination, as the young guard has a knack for dishing out flashy passes, as well as a stellar finishing ability in close.
At 6-foot-4, White is the perfect size for an NBA point guard. Considering his scoring potential and athletic ability, Coby White has one of the highest ceilings in the draft.
For a Bulls team that could certainly use a new look at the point guard position, White is the clear favorite to get picked here. Only the Phoenix Suns at number six are a threat to take White, but in all likelihood, the Suns will be going with the best player available, which may not be White.
The Bulls have to get this right. In my honest and educated opinion, that will only be done at pick seven if they select Coby White. White has point guard of the future written all over him, and could very well shape out to be the steal of the draft if his potential is met.
