Chicago Bulls fans, it’s time to do your thing tonight

It’s time for Chicago Bulls fans to pull out all the stops for tonight’s NBA Draft Lottery.

Good morning Chicago Bulls fans! Well, at least for the moment it is a good morning. That’s because you probably woke up like a kid on Christmas morning — full of anticipation and excitement for what awaits you.

Except the anticipated prize you are hoping for isn’t a puppy, or a new video gaming system, but instead a 6-foot-7, 284-pound mountain of a man named Zion Williamson. Alright, let’s transition out of this analogy because the thought of a large man waiting for you in your living room on Christmas morning is getting weird.

In any event, you get the point.

Tonight, in Chicago, Illinois, at the Chicago Hilton (I mean could this have been scripted any better?) at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, the NBA will host its 2019 NBA Draft Lottery. Around that time, some guy you’ve never met, from an audit firm you’ve likely never heard of, will oversee the selection of the first 14 picks of the upcoming Draft.

While the formula and method are complex, all you need to know is that before you go to bed tonight, you will know whether the Bulls will have the opportunity to draft a franchise-altering player, or if they will continue to wallow in mediocrity.

The New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Phoenix Suns all have the best odds of landing the No. 1 overall pick, each having a 14 percent chance. The Bulls come in next at 12.5 percent — and you can thank a couple of those meaningless wins last season for that.

So they are heading into this thing with longer odds than their competition.

Consequently, the team needs your help. If you are a religious person, then pray. If you are not a religious person — well — still pray, because they’ll need all the help they can get. Go get your lucky hat, or underwear, or whatever other inanimate objects you place all your hopes and dreams in during moments of crisis.

Any and all rituals are welcome, no matter how crazy they may seem. Start putting all the positive vibes you can into the universe and speak Zion to the Bulls into existence as much as possible over the next 10 hours or so. You need to do your part because the fate of the world (ok maybe just the future of the Bulls) may depend on it!
