Chicago Bears: Game of Thrones NFC North player comps (Part 1)
Jamaal Williams – RB, Packers (Doran Martell)
Doran Martell is the Prince of Dorne and leader of House Martell. Dorne does not have its own king, and therefore, Doran was the ruling leader of Dorne as well. Doran had a younger brother Oberyn who we will get to shortly.
Doran came across as a peaceful character, who was very calculating in his ways. He was a responsible ruler who loved his people and his family. Unlike his younger brother, Doran put a lot of thought into his decisions and he tried to appear available to the people of Dorne. The problem is that not all of his decisions were well received. Many believed he was weak and felt that Doran could no longer lead them.
In steps Jamaal Williams. I remember when Williams was drafted. He was a fourth-round pick who was supposed to help Green Bay’s running game. He is a decent back, but he has proven to be too average when it comes to running the football. It did not take long for another 2017 draft pick in Aaron Jones to supplant Williams. However, injuries to Jones kept Williams relevant.
Can you see where this is going yet? Just like Doran, Williams was supposed to lead. He was supposed to be the one people (or teammates) could count on to move them forward onto glory. Instead, both Doran and Williams proved unworthy and others called for someone to replace them.
