Chicago Bears: Game of Thrones NFC North player comps (Part 1)
Chuck Pagano – DC, Bears (Tywin Lannister)
I could not decide on a comparable player for Joffrey Lannister or any of the other Lannister children. Therefore, this will be the last of the Lannister comparables. Tywin Lannister is one of the best leaders and generals in Westeros. He is also the wealthiest. He has led many warriors into battle, but his obsession with the Lannister legacy poses a problem at times.
Tywin is the Lord of House Lannister and the Lord of Casterly Rock. Similar to Stannis Baratheon, he is a tactician who knows how to place his soldiers in the best positions to succeed. He knows how to get the upper hand, when to be aggressive and when to stay on the defensive.
It pains me to give this comparison to someone among the Chicago Bears, but when I think of Tywin Lannister, I immediately think of Chuck Pagano. Pagano understands how to put his players in the best positions to succeed. He can be aggressive with his blitz schemes, but he understands when to back off too.
Pagano has led multiple defenses to greatness and I fully expect he does the same with the Chicago Bears. Like Tywin, Pagano is a true tactician. He is one of the best to ever coach. He is a strong leader and a no-nonsense guy like Tywin Lannister too. Hopefully, Pagano does not become obsessed with his legacy like Tywin. Otherwise, this could be a way to move onto another head coaching gig.
This will do it for Part One. We have many important characters and players left to discuss. Make sure to check back next week for Part Two.
