Chicago Bears: Game of Thrones NFC North player comps (Part 1)
Stefon Diggs – WR, Vikings (Renly Baratheon)
If I had to choose a Baratheon to be my king, Renly Baratheon would be that guy. He is not a warrior like his brother Robert. He is not a tactician like his brother Stannis. I find Renly to have the best personality among the three. He is more of a politician and people are easily drawn to supporting him.
Renly has a good heart. He is kind, fair and just in his decisions. If ever given the opportunity to be the King of the Seven Kingdoms, I believe Renly would do Westeros well. He might be a little too soft in people’s minds, but the loyalty he receives from others would allow them to do his dirty work.
When Renly claims his right to the throne, he had a vast following. He was the up and coming frontrunner to win the crown, but his fate might not be so lucky. The hot ticket of Renly Baratheon reminds me of Stefon Diggs. Diggs is an up and coming talent in the NFL, however, he has been slowed down from injuries every season.
Diggs has many supporters. From players to coaches to fans, Diggs is loved by many in the NFL. Even the fantasy football community loves Diggs. His value is likely to increase after his best season in 2018 too. However, history has shown his fate might not be as lucky. On top of that, his best season led to the Vikings being 9-7-1 and missing the playoffs.
Like Renly, Diggs is a hot ticket in the NFC North who likely will not live up to his full potential.
