Chicago Bulls: Potential free agent adds from NBA Playoffs

Point Guard Ricky Rubio — Unrestricted
Another guy who could come in and fix the point guard problem in Chicago, Ricky Rubio, is unrestricted this summer. I understand the notion that some people don’t like his game because of his lack of shooting prowess. In today’s NBA, you either have to be a score-first point guard, or an elite distributor.
Fortunately for Rubio, I believe he is still one of the elite facilitators in the game today. Vision is something that doesn’t go easy, and some of the best point guards in history proved that. Not to say Rubio is among that category, but his ability to make the right pass at the right time has always impressed me.
The Bulls don’t have a guy like Rubio on the roster, and the slashers like Zach LaVine and Otto Porter Jr. would benefit greatly from having him at the helm. Even Rubio’s ability to drive to the bucket and kick out for an open three would translate well in Chicago.
No matter what the Bulls do at the point guard position, fans hope for something better than what Kris Dunn has given them. Dunn isn’t the answer. He’s not a strong scorer, and he’s no where near where he should be as a facilitator. Rubio would at least give the Bulls the latter.
